If I’m honest, I don’t particularly like paying full price for expensive products, I’ll search the internet for a discount code or wait until it goes down in the sale. Expensive perfumes rarely get reduced, but if they’re in a gift set at Christmas, they are often reduced in the January sales. So after lusting after the sexy bottle for months, I bought a gift set in the Boots sale. It included Jean Paul Gaultier Scandal EDP 50ml and a body lotion in a lovely pink velvet hat box for £40 instead of £65.
First and foremost, the bottle is absolutely stunning. There’s something so glamorous about the long legs and high heels emerging from the bottle.
Now moving onto the smell. It’s top notes are blood orange and grapefruit; heart notes are honey and gardenia and the base is patchouli.
It is sweet from the honey, but it’s not overpowering or sickly. It’s the type of perfume I’d choose for a date night. It’s similar to Jean Paul Gaultier’s original perfume ‘Classique’ but slightly more sweet and floral.
Is it as scandalous as the name suggests? It’s definitely a sexy perfume, not quite as good as the original Classique, but it’s one to try and the bottle looks oh so good on my dressing table.
