I wanted my first post to be a review of Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream because it is literally my skin saviour! I started using this moisturiser six years ago and I’ve never looked back.
My skin started changing in my mid-twenties and my forehead and nose were getting dry patches, particularly in winter and nothing was working, not even expensive creams like Clarins or Clinique. It took a few weeks to see the difference it was making on my skin, but once it started working, it was like a miracle cream.
I never have dry patches on my skin, even in the depths of winter and it looks healthier and more nourished than ever. In the past, I would use a moisturiser for a few months before getting fed up of it when I realised it wasn’t making any difference to my skin. So to be using this for six years is crazy for me.
I use it of a morning before applying make up and (if I’m being good) of a night time after I’ve washed my face.
It has a kind of citrus smell, which I wasn’t too keen on when I first used it, but now I love it! I think it’s because I associate the smell with the wonders it does to my skin.
The cream contains manuka honey, which has has been used for centuries by indigenous Maori women to sooth and nourish skin and I have many relatives and friends who swear by it. Other ingredients include avocado pear oil with Vitamins A, B, C, E as well as chlorophyll and Omega 9, 3 and 6 – all excellent antioxidants. The brand is against animal testing and focuses on natural and organic skin care.
The only other item I’ve used in the range is the Antipodes Kiwi Seed Oil Eye Cream, which I will get round to reviewing, but I really want to try more products in the range (I don’t know why I haven’t already!
It costs around £27.99 but I always wait until it’s on offer or use a coupon code. It’s not cheap, but in my opinion, it’s totally worth it!
This isn’t a sponsored post by the way. I just want to share my honest experience with the cream. I love reading other people’s beauty posts, I always read reviews before I buy new products, so I hope this comes in handy for you 🙂
